ScherezadaSun Sun Total Size: 187,84MB http://rapidshare.com/files/25395488...na_Jam_1.2.rar A groundbreaking record for the time -- especially considering the barriers between American and Cuba! In a unique effort, Columbia Records managed to record this landmark concert set of performances featuring some of its biggest artists alongside other Cuban players -- all captured live at the Karl Marx theater in Havana! This first volume is a very wide-ranging blend of styles -- jazz, fusion, Latin, and bits of straight ahead vocals -- handled by a diverse array of hip CBS superstars at the time, but often with a decidedly Cuban bent. Titles include "Black Market" by Weather Report, "Para Flauta Y Adaido De Mozart" by Irakere, "Cuba Al Fin" by Stephen Stills, "Project S" and "Black Stockings" by CBS Jazz All-Stars (Dexter Gordon, Jimmy Heath, Stan Getz, & Others), "Dark Prince" by Trio Of Doom, "Juan Pachanga" by Fania All-Stars, "Living Legend" by Kris Kristofferson, "Que Barla Monda" by Orquesta Aragon, and "Scherezada/Sun Sun" by Cuban Percussion Ensemble |

Tin Tin Deo - CBS Jazz All-Stars Total Size: 183,03MB http://rapidshare.com/files/25395644...na_Jam_2.2.rar A rare cross-cultural session from 1979 -- one in which Columbia Records was allowed to record live performances involving a number of American jazz musicians playing alongside Cuban groups like Irakere and The Cuban Percussion Ensemble! The blend of modes here is really great -- somewhat in the territory of Irakere's albums for Columbia, but a lot wider-ranging overall -- sometimes sensitive and jazz-based, sometimes much more upbeat and jamming! Jazz players include Dexter Gordon, Paquito D'Rivera, Jimmy Heath, and Stan Getz on tenor sax; Arthur Blythe on alto sax, Cedar Walton on piano, Jimmy Heath on bass, and Tony Williams on drums -- as well as the members of Weather Report, who turn in one especially cooking number. Irakere plays "Mil Ciento De Junedad" and "Contradanza", Weather Report play "Teentown", Cuban Percussion Ensemble play "Scherezada/Sun Sun", John McLaughlin's Trio Of Doom play "Para Oriente" and "Continuum", and assorted jazz players handle "Tin Tin Deo", "Polkadots & Moonbeams", "Sounds For Sore Ears", and "I Wanna Be". |
